Lloyd, DOProgram DirectorUH Regional Hospitals Department of Medical Education participates in a parallel AOA/ACGME residency program with the Department of Dermatology at our system’s main campus facility, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. The program is the only American Osteopathic Association-accredited residency administered by a nationally ranked, university-based dermatology department.This parallel dermatology residency offers outstanding didactics, faculty/trainee research conferences and citywide grand rounds at major hospitals in multiple health care systems. The national acclaim of the University Hospitals’ Department of Dermatology allows the residents to gain experience in all aspects of the discipline, including the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease, dermatological surgery and dermatopathology.UH Regional Hospitals is a core training site with an inpatient consult service and ambulatory dermatology clinic for all of the dermatology residents.

During consult months, residents see all inpatient and emergency department consults. The resident is also responsible for all patients admitted to the dermatology service.The department faculty offers a spectrum of career mentorship opportunities including basic science, clinical specialties and clinic research opportunities.

Us Dermatology Residency Programs

All house officers are encouraged to develop special interests in a clinical area – basic science or clinical research – during their training, and to explore the depth of our faculty’s expertise through one-on-one interactions on projects, activities and publications.The goal of the program is to provide an intellectually stimulating environment and prepare residents for top-level private practice, subspecialty clinical fellowships and junior-level faculty positions.
